This short video takes you through a quick introduction of the Galaxy Audio CHECK MATE series CM-140 SPL (Sound Pressure Level) meter. Today, there is a need to know just how loud your surroundings really are. The Galaxy Audio CM-140 SPL meter measures sound levels and gives it to you as a number in decibels. How loud is too loud? Sound Pressure or a sound’s loudness is measured in decibels (dB). Hearing damage is related to the duration and levels (volume) that one is exposed to. Normal conversation is around 60 dB (Decibels). A Rock Concert can be anywhere from 115 to 125 dB (Decibels). The Max exposure time at a continuous 115 dB is only about 30 seconds.
