Vessels have appeared in art for thousands of years—as vases, chalices, and sacred containers—but they’ve never been merely decorative. Here, I explore the symbolism of vessels in art through contemporary painting, art history, and modern interpretations of ancient forms. From Aladdin-like lamps to ritual vessels found across cultures, the original paintings featured here reference objects that once held oil, water, offerings, memory, and belief. Rather than focusing on function, this episode examines meaning: how vessels continue to serve as containers for stories, culture, and the unseen. In this episode, my artist friend Katherine and I share our collection of contemporary paintings inspired by ancient relics, sacred containers, mythology, and classical art history—reimagined through modern painting practices. I also demonstrate my exploration of Kintsugi, the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. This video is for anyone interested in painting, fine art, art history, symbolism, or modern interpretations of classical forms. Step into a quiet, gallery-style art show featuring painted vases, vessels, and chalices—each rooted in history, culture, and form. Designed to feel like a slow gallery visit, this video is thoughtful, meditative, and focused on storytelling through visual art.
