The campsite is on the edge of the Maranoa River in Mitchell in Queensland about 3km from the town. And this great campsite is one to watch the video review. There are three large camping areas, so plenty of room for everyone even for the travellers with buses. The ground is pretty level around this park, but you might need you wheel blocks in a few places. It is quite a popular spot and you can get up to 40 or so vans here most times, but the site is so large that it is not a problem. The campground is well maintained and has flushing toilets which has stocked with toilet paper and hand wash, but no paper towel. But there is drinking water at this site, but still use a filter in every new place you go. You will see what the toilets are like on the video review. There is a choice of shady or sunny spots, depending your solar needs. The phone service is not too bad, I did a download/upload speed on the review. The shops are only a few mins drive away, and it is a great place to restock all your needs. The town was so friendly when I was there, and I mean everyone I chatted too seemed happy. There are two types of Bbq ’s and covered picnic tables, and you will have to watch the video to see the a “sink” that someone called a Camp kitchen. Lol! There are heaps of rubbish bins all over this site. There is even a small play ground for the kids to keep the occupied for a few mins..Lol! Fires are ok at this site, and there was heaps of wood to use around the site. But this is a great base for kayak fishing as there is easy access for launching. The locals say there is plenty of yellow belly and red claw in the weir. They all make great eating. Plus don't forget the Thermal Artesian Pools in town at the Aquatic Centre.
