The more interest I see in this topic (primarily thumbs up and view counts of the videos) the more videos/diagrams I will made as I find this a very fun topic. The fact that LEDs can be used like mini solar cells when light shines on them is often told. Unfortunately LEDs produce very little current when used as mini solar cells. Since the op amp inputs need almost no current at all, I figured the op amp would be perfect for using a LED as a light sensor. The "sensor" LED's Anode is connected to the inverting pin and the cathode is connected to the non inverting pin. so when enough light shines on the LED, it gives the inverting pin a more positive voltage and the non inverting pin a more negative voltage. This is a quickly put together circuit based on my own curiosities and I do not intend to explain the circuit any further at this time unless there is clearly interest in me doing so.
