Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future | Vintage Toy Review Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future was a children's television series that ran 22 episodes in syndication between September 1, 1987 and March 27, 1988. It starred Tim Dunigan as Captain Jonathan Power who was the son of the scientist that created a special computer to deal with the BioMechs around the world. He is the leader of a special team of soldiers known as "The Power Team" who battle the machines in the year 2147 in special suits known as "power suits". The toy line was developed to have interactive play with the series using flashing lights in a pre-internet age. While the series was primarily directed at kids, it did contain adult storylines that would be considered par for the course by today's standards. Ultimately, it's dark, post-apocalyptic tone would be criticized and get it cancelled before season 2 could be broadcast.
