Israel launches airstrikes in Gaza for second night since ceasefire

The Israeli military launched airstrikes in the Gaza Strip during the late hours of Thursday for a second night, following a May ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas that ended an 11-day period of hostilities. In a statement, the Israeli Air Force said it had attacked what it described as a “rocket launch site and military complexes” belonging to Hamas. The country’s military said that the strikes were in retaliation for the launching of incendiary balloons toward Israeli territory.
