I used a lemon cake recipe to make this barrel cake, I doubled the recipe and baked in 2 8" round tins. Lemon Cake Recipe:    • Lemon Loaf Cake // Pastry Pleasures   Chocolate buttercream Recipe:    • Chocolate Buttercream :: Pastry Pleasures   Gelatin Ice Cubes Recipe 6 tablespoons room temperature water 2 tablespoon powder gelatin 4 cups hot water 3 or tablespoons granulated sugar (can add if you'd like) 2 teaspoons flavour / 4 shots of gin/vodka/rum Method Sprinkle the gelatin on the water, and let it sit to bloom Heat the water and add sugar. Once the sugar dissolves, transfer to a bowl and let it add the bloomed gelatin. Add the flavour / alcohol and stir Refrigerate for at least 3 hrs to start set.
