What does it do to your spirit when showing up to work every day feels like serving a sentence instead of building a future? In this deeply personal and honest LIVE conversation, I sit down with Tarshea Sanderson, who knows all too well what it means to be emotionally imprisoned by her job. She shares what it felt like to navigate fear so heavy she could barely breathe, yet still managed to show up every day. She talks about the silence—how the lack of communication at work left her feeling cut off, isolated, and stuck in her own world. And she reflects on the painful reality of giving nearly a decade to a job that offered no clarity, no growth, and no real future. This isn’t just about stress. This is about the way toxic jobs chip away at our self-worth, our mental health, and our ability to dream beyond survival. It’s about how fear of leaving—fear of instability, of disappointing others, of not finding something “better”—keeps so many Black women trapped in places that are breaking us. If you’ve ever cried in your car before walking into work… if you’ve ever wondered how you’re still holding it together… if you’ve been gaslit into thinking it’s just you—this conversation is for you. You’re not alone. You’re not imagining it. And you don’t have to stay stuck. We’re talking about what it really looks like to name what’s hurting us, to break out of survival mode, and to move toward the freedom, wellness, and purpose we deserve.
