The light is also shed on the pulmonary edema pathophysiology by highlighting capillary damage where an indirect or direct injury causes Inflammation giving rise to innate Immunity which in turn causes tissue injury or dysfunction. This is followed by the Pathogenesis of Heart Failure, edema of Renal Diseases, arginine vasopressin, and Hepatic Cirrhosis. Drug-induced edema includes the drug such as NSAIDS, antihypertensive agents, calcium channel antagonists, cyclosporine, Growth Hormones. The various types of edema are also discussed which include localized or generalized edema, lymphedema, and myxoedema. Pitting edema can be caused by a localized problem with veins in the affected area. The localized pitting edema pathophysiology is discussed in detail with the help of a flow chart in this lecture.
