Motorcycle Route 66 to Oatman, then Sedona and Jerome - Day 2 by Harley Davidson

Day 2 of my little USA motorcycle adventure. 325 miles, Harley Davidson Road Glide to Oatman (Route 66), Sedona and Jerome. After overnighting in Bullhead at the Days Inn, and a buffet breakfast including a self-made Pancakes machine I blasted down to Toprock to pick up one of the most scenic portions of Route 66 running through Oatman. I had a problem with speed and a state trooper came from nowhere behind me with with the full disco light sequence in action. Bottom line, I was very lucky. It was a total error on my part and he knew it. He was so professional and a credit to the department. I took it easy through to Oatman, and put the drone up for the first and only time of the trip - mainly due to weather. Oatman was amazing. It’s hard to imagine the lives and circumstances running through that outpost. It’d have been quite an Oasis from the hardship of the road. It’s quite a road, twisty and steep in parts, and it’d be baking in summer. It was hot in February! Lunch in the old hotel. A 14hr bbq brisket burger. OMG. Then needing to really box on, I legged it to Kingman for a Diner Coke, Seligman, Flagstaff and down into Sedona. The interstate was a hazard and felt lucky not to crack a front rim. Down into Sedona, threading the needle in terms of weather. Things were getting late when I turned toward Prescott for the night via the old hilltop town of Jerome. It was very cold, and snow covered the roadside. The steep hillside had me worried for ice, and the roadside pee for bears. I got in to Prescott feeling pretty knackered to be honest.
