The incident happened around 10:30 PM on Thursday in Bhogal Lane, Jangpura. According to police, the argument broke out when Asif asked his neighbors to move their scooter parked in front of his main gate. Instead of moving the scooter, the neighbors allegedly started abusing him. In a fit of rage, two young men attacked Asif with a sharp tool similar to a paper punch needle. He was seriously injured and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Delhi Police acted swiftly. Within a few hours, both accused were arrested. They have been identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18), both real brothers and neighbors of the victim. DCP East Delhi Hemant Tiwari led the operation and confirmed the arrests. The murder weapon was also recovered during the investigation. During questioning, the accused admitted that the dispute was triggered by the parking issue. They claimed to have lost their temper after the argument and attacked Asif, leading to his death. Asif’s wife, Sainaz Qureshi, told police that this was not the first time such a dispute had occurred. The neighbors had previously argued over the parking issue and had been warned. On that night, Asif saw the scooter parked at the main gate again and simply asked them to move it. This time, it escalated into deadly violence. Police have filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and stated that further investigation is ongoing. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to collect more evidence. The tragic death of Asif Qureshi has left the neighborhood in deep shock and mourning.
