Sur Sudha is an instrumental band from Kathmandu, Nepal, playing Eastern classical music. The group is lead by Surendra Shrestha on tabla, with Prem Rana Autari on flute (Baansuri) and Satendra Bir Singh Tuladhar on Sitar. They have been active since 1987 and have performed over 2,000 concerts worldwide. They were Nepal's Goodwill Tourism Ambassadors in 2011. Surendra Shrestha began playing the tabla at the age of nine and began his professional career in 1985. He formed Sur Sudha in 1987. Sur Sudha is known as Nepal's MUSICAL AMBASSADORS' and is devoted to making music to disseminate a universal message of peace and harmony. Sur-Sudha's music is a package of the representation of all the communities of Nepal including from the highest peaks of the Himalayan range to the lowest land of Terai. And top of that it also presents modern fusion compositions including acoustic guitar, tabla, sitar, and flute. ---------------------------------------- BAANSURI means Flute.
