‘Ultra-Rapid’ Testing Unlocks Cancer Genetics in the Operating Room

🧠 New research from @NYUGrossman suggests that a 15-minute genetic test may one day help brain surgeons detect and measure cancer cells in real time during surgery. The tool, called Ultra-Rapid droplet digital PCR (UR-ddPCR), analyzes tissue samples for specific genetic mutations linked to cancer. In early tests, it detected even small numbers of cancer cells—potentially guiding more precise brain tumor removal.
