Railways at work 2022 at the Great Central Railway, Leicestershire.

Here's a fantastic film, featuring some 'off the tracks' cameos from our fabulous Railways At Work event. Staged in March 2022 it was blessed with great weather. Besides the incredible procession of motive power and trains on the main line, at Quorn and Woodhouse station our volunteers showed how railway freight used to work. It's all about the hard labour, loading and unloading cargo, parcels, sacks and packages from trains. A rail crane and some fantastic vintage railway yard vehicles finish off the scene.
