Vintage maker Lucy Meakin gives her tips for newcomers to vintage shopping on where and how to buy vintage clothes, how to make simple alterations, and offers some words of wisdom for those interested in selling-on their creations. Watch Lucy visit some of her favourite vintage sellers, before buying two 1980s classic items, giving them a thorough makeover, and modelling the results. You can find out more about Lucy and her vintage fashion creations at http://www.frockvintage.co.uk This film was shot in May 2017 by Ed Swinden of PixByEd (http://www.pixbyed.com) using a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, a Canon 5D MkII, and a Zoom H1N Audio recorder. It was edited in May and June 2017 using Adobe Premiere Pro, AfterEffects and Audition. The music used in the film is courtesy of Josh Woodward (www.joshwoodward.com). It was downloaded from The Free Music Archive and is used under a Creative Commons attribution licence. The pieces are instrumental arrangements of "Crazy Glue", "Untitled", and "Perfect". The retail outlets visited during Lucy's shopping trip included Barnardo's Vintage, Cheadle, Stockport Vintage Village, The Manchester Weigh and Pay, and Twentieth Century Stores, Stockport. The items featured, including the clothes and sketchbook, were all purchased at the filmmakers' expense.
