How to setup LG Calibration Studio on Mac OS to calibrate your LG UltraFine monitor the right way

A lot of LG displays and LG UltraFine monitors are hardware calibrated. If you own a colorimeter (measuring devices connected via USB) such as the Calibrite Display Pro or the Calibrite ColorChecker Studio for example you can easily calibrate and validate your LG monitor for accurate colors by using the manufacturer's LG Calibration Studio app available for Apple Mac OS and Windows. Personally I calibrate my displays every two weeks for accurate colors and proper representation of contrast and luminance especially when it comes to printing photographs as you are dependent on not one but two different color spaces and for color grading tasks inside DaVinci Resolve or any other NLE software. This video walks you through setting up the LG Calibration Studio software correctly for great results. We also explore the differences between LG's Calibrating and 3D LUTs terminology. In the end I share with you how I deal with the ongoing problem where display profiles go missing in the system settings (displays) after calibrating your LG monitor on Mac OS. My process and configuration applies to a lot of LG monitors such as the LG UltraFine 5K and 4K series, the LG UP and LG UQ series. For reference I own both the LG UltraFine 5K and LG 27 UQ850W monitors.
