This teaser demo is for the new RADX COTS Marathon Hot-Swap, Order-Independent PXIe-SSD-RAID Subsystem. The particular model being demonstrated is a PXIe-SSD-C2X-4xU.3-EHS-122.88TB-MI3 that's been integrated into a PXIe-1092 / PXIe-8881 Reference System. The RADX Marathon COTS PXIe-SSD-RAID Subsystems are basically PXIe versions of the the HighPoint Technologies RS6541AW 4-bay and RS6542AW 8-bay PCIe Gen 4 x16 RAID Subsystems. Ideal for applications such as ADAS/AD or RF Record and Playback, where one needs to collect massive amounts of wideband data in a PXIe System (in a vehicle, test range or lab), and then secure the data in a safe or rapidly transfer the data to a PCIe or another PXIe System equipped with equivalent PXIe or PCIe RAID Subsystems. These RADX PXIe and their companion PCIe RAID Subsystems will be launched at NI Connect 2025 at the end of April, 2025 and will be available for purchase this Quarter (Q22025). This demo is of the Marathon PXIe-SSD-RAID 4-bay variant, which enables 4 x Gen 3 or Gen 4 U.2/U.3 NVMe 2.5 Inch SSDs (in Disk Cartridges) to be attached to a PXIe Chassis via a high-performance, low-latency RADX Catalyst PXIe-C2X-G4x8-4xU.x-HA Host Adapter that provides a PCIe Gen 3 x8 or Gen 4x8 connection to PXIe systems and up to a PCIe Gen 4 x16 connections to PCIe Systems. The demo as shown uses 4 x Micron 6500 Ion 30.72TB (UF) SSDs. As shown in the demo, these SSDs, configured in a RAID-0 x4, deliver 7.1 GB/Sec Sustained Sequential Read and Write Performance. The demo also shows how Marathon supports hot swap removal and ORDER INDEPENDENT insertion of the SSD Cartridges. Basically, with one of these subsystems in your lab or vehicle and one in your analysis area, you can move 123 or 246TB in under one minute! And, by the way, on a PCIe Gen 4 x16 system, the data transfer speed is up to 4x the speed of a PXIe Gen 3 x8 system like PXIe-1092 / PXIe-8881 we are demonstrating today. RADX also offers an 8-Bay System (PXIe-SSD-C2X-8xU.3-EHS) that supports 8 x NVMe Gen 3 or Gen 4 U.2/U.3 SSDs. The system even supports multiple arrays at a time, so you could have 2 x RAID-0 x4 arrays installed from different vehicles at the same time and can support real-time or even 2x real-time data transfer rates.
