Welcome to another interview with Honey Bee Experts. I've broadened my interview categories by adding young Up-and-Comers in the area of Honey Bee Management and Research. Atreya Manaswi is a 10th grade student who is also conducting research at the University of Florida's Entomology and Nematology Departments. He is also involved with the USDA, in Gainesville, FL. He is focused on experiments involving Honey Bee Nutrition which includes Pollen Substitute Management. He's also involved in experiments which identify the BEST baits for the dreaded Small Hive Beetle. Including the Fabrication of a Novel Volatile Blend, based on Beer Chemical Constituency for Hive Beetle Management. Atreya is in his fourth year of honey bee research, and credits Dr. Jamie Ellis for bringing him into the UF/IFAS Honey Bee Research and Extension Laboratory.
