In this video we share tips on how to spot fake Facebook accounts. There are people who would like to steal personal information, and they often try to use fake Facebook accounts to do it. If you get a friend request from someone you don't know, use these steps to help you decide if it is a scammer: Photos: Does the Facebook profile picture look genuine? Do their other photos fit together, or does it look like random magazine photos? Friends: How many friends do they have? Do you have any friends in common? Posts: Do they post often? Do they write them, or is it just shared content from other pages? Messages: Did they send a strange message like "You look so beautiful" or "You've won $1000!!" It's probably a scam Google: Search their name, do they have a LinkedIn account? Another social media page? REMEMBER: these are just guidelines. If it seems suspicious, better to be safe and deny their friend request or block them.
