Lockdown Projekt 3: Gehrenspitze with Andi

Just short before the second hard Lockdown in Austria, my hanggliding buddy Andi and I startet a final hike&fly adventure. We`ve been on this particular takeoff a few weeks earlier and it was a very nice flight so we thought to give it another go. And man, it did pay off big times!! Left the car on a parking lot right next to our designated landing area and hiked up via the Wettersteinhütte (1717m) and the Wangalm (1751m) towards the Erinnerungshütte. From there it woud have been another 20min or so to the actual peak of our tour, the Gehrenspitze (2367m) over Leutasch but we were here for the flight and not for the hike so we didn`t make it all the way to the top. The flight was absolutely stunning, especially for the time of the year. We sure were hoping for some thermals but neither of us expectet such good conditions. After a bit over an hour of flight we landed back at Leutasch right next to the car. It would have been possible to fly a lot longer but both of us were frozen out completely so we were happy to be back on the ground in the last rays of sun. Yet another magic flight in late autumn with good companie, amazing weather and a stunning view. Hard Lockdown Nr.2 hit even harder afterwards....
