Welcome to a quick tutorial on how to benchmark your system using Assassin's Creed Valhalla and how to increase your FPS quite a bit, without losing much performance. First off, you want to check the Options and select Screen. Make sure you have full screen selected, no FPS limit and no Vsync. In addition, check if the resolution is correct. Usually and for comparison's sake it is either full HD, 1440p or 4k. In the graphics tab select Ultra Quality settings. That may require a restart of the game. After that run the benchmark. It is a short scene of flying through a village with a bird's eye view on it at the end. The results afterwards will show you the average frames per second (FPS), minimum, maximum and in addition the 1% low as well as the 0.1% low FPS. Higher is obviously better in all categories. Note: Assassin's Creed Valhalla is very heavy on your GPU and will max it out or be quite close to the maximum. TWEAKING FOR MORE FPS ======================= For tweaking to get more FPS, I would lower the Anti-aliasing as it is not noticeable on higher resolutions. The World Details and Clutter will also look quite good on High. Shadows are also quite good looking, even on medium. Volumetric Clouds look awesome on Ultra High, you can go as low as high though. Water should be a compromise for most of us, being sufficient on medium. Screen Space Reflections are a must and should be left on. For textures, I would also go to medium on Environment Textures and keep high on Character Textures. If your system is struggling, go on medium there as well. For Depth of Field I did not notice any difference while benchmarking and would keep it on high. Motion Blur is not making much of a difference as well. I turned it off because of personal preference. My average FPS increased from 63 to 80 FPS, netting me a gain of 27% for my stock 4790K and GTX 1080.
