Google inadvertently directing users to extreme content
An investigation by Sky News has found that Google is directing people towards misinformation and conspiracy theories by placing YouTube videos prominently in its search results. A creator of YouTube's search engine told Sky News it is a radicalisation engine that 'pushes people down rabbit holes'. YouTube strongly denies such claims and told Sky News it no longer uses watch time as a metric and that it is not in its ethical or financial interest to recommend harmful content. Sky's Technology Correspondent Rowland Manthorpe investigates.
