The Nairobi Field of Dreams complex at JKUAT has expanded, with Field #2 now completed (minor items like outfield grass remain) and Field 3 cleared and prepared to be fitted with a backstop and dugouts (once we raise enough funds to complete). The expansion is driven by proven demand, demonstrated by the success of Field 1 over the last 3 years and recent events like the Nairobi Baseball Community Championship Series festival, which drew over 1,000 spectators and included the first-ever Nairobi Little League championship. In January 2026, for the first time ever, the complex was in full use hosting the third annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Jackie Robinson tournament hosted by the organization Baseball4Africa, bringing together 22 teams and over 400 players, including a team from Juba University in South Sudan. This growth is a dream come true for the baseball community across Nairobi, East Africa, and the continent. Remaining improvements include: building a backstop and dugouts for Field 3 (a smaller Little League field). Making structural improvements to Field 1 fencing to make it permanent. Establishing operational and support facilities (running water, electricity, bathrooms, and equipment storage) at a central community hub container building. The project is possible due to the grassroots support of players, coaches, and organizations, along with donors from around the world. It is truly an example of "the power of we".
