Why Western Expats Are Moving To Malaysia And Leaving Thailand! During my time visiting Thailand, I have met a great number of expats who have loved living in Thailand. Over the last couple of years, I am meeting more and more expats who are leaving Thailand for greener pastures, and many are moving to Malaysia! Bordering Thailand, Malaysia is better developed, has a more stable economy, a strong and stable government and many opportunities for western expats. Western expats, in fact, are moving to Malaysia in droves and these are the top reasons why. 1. No Discrimination For Western Expats. Unlike Thailand, which discriminates against western expats in the types of jobs they can do, the types of property they can buy, the bank loans they can get, work permits, visas, and many more things, Malaysia does not discriminate. Western expats who are tired of countries like Thailand where discrimination is the norm, are thrilled to be moving to Malaysia, where they can buy the house they want, do the job they want, get an easy visa and work permit and more. 2. Malaysia is Multi-Racial. Unlike some other countries in the region, Malaysia is a multi-racial, multi-ethnic society and open to everyone.
