Another SF light rail line has returned! Light rail trains got back on the tracks of the T Third Street on January 23, 2021 (the date this was filmed). It is the second light rail line to make its return to train service, following the J Church in December 2020. Footage for this video was mostly filmed along the Embarcadero and down 3rd St in Mission Bay. Along the way, we see the Financial District, Bay Bridge, Oracle Park, Historic 4th St Bridge, and Chase Center. Modified service has the T running between Sunnydale and Embarcadero station. This marks the first time that underground service has been restored to the MUNI Metro since April 2020, disregarding the botched system reopening attempt in August that lasted two days due to positive COVID tests and equipment failures. The appearance of at least a few older Breda cars was a welcome surprise whilst filming the T, and ensures that we will have a mixed fleet of old and new trains for the foreseeable future.
