Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will make this announcement at an event in Thiruvananthapuram, with renowned actors Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Kamal Haasan as special guests. The extreme poverty eradication initiative, launched by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in 2021, has made significant strides, with over 64,000 families identified as extremely poor through extensive surveys. These families, classified based on factors like food security, health, and housing, have been supported with essential documents, housing, land, and repairs, bringing many marginalized communities into the mainstream. This landmark achievement highlights Kerala’s leadership in poverty alleviation, aided by effective government integration and the involvement of local bodies across the state.
