This process shows you how to Repair a crack in cast steel by firstly removing the complete crack with a gouging rod. After that is done the area gets cleaned with a carbide-burr, preheated and welded up with a filler metal equivalent to cast steel. Welded area is dressed to remove access welding and it is then crack tested via MPI to ensure no new cracking accrued and that the previous crack was removed completely and repaired correctly.
