About Speaker: Rashmin Gandhi, FRCS (Edinburgh), FRCS (Glasgow) Current designation:Dr.Gandhi is the Managing Director,Beyond Eye and Health Care Pvt Ltd.He also is a Consultant and Director,Neuro-ophthalmology,Centre for Sight,Hyderabad and at Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences,Wardha.He is a founding member and Vice President of Indian Neuro Ophthalmology Society.In addition he is Visiting Professor at University of Hyderabad. Education: Dr Gandhi has completed his FRCS from Royal college of Surgeons,Edinburgh and Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons,Glasgow.He has undergone training in Neuro-ophthalmology from the Johns Hopkins University, USA Experience: Senior Ophthalmologist at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai (2000 to 2013) and the Director and Board member of the Sankara Nethralaya Academy (2010 to 2013). He was an Adjunct Professor at IIT Madras from 2009 to 2013. Interests: Development of new technologies in Ophthalmology, education and community outreach programs. He is an adjunct faculty at IIT Madras and the clinical director of the IIT-Sankara Nethralaya team which developed the stateofthe-art mobile eye surgical units. Dr Gandhi has lead a team to organize and conduct outreach programs in Zambia, Kenya and Botswana. Dr Gandhi is a member of the International Council of Ophthalmology ‘s Technology for Education Committee and the Education Committee of All India Ophthalmological Society. He established a teaching institute and hospital in Addis Ababa and has been leading eye Care operations with Ministry of Health in Iraq and Gabon. Honors: Dr Gandhi has been awarded a special gold medal by Intraocular Implant and Refective society of India in 2015.He received an award for academic excellenceAcademic excellence by the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi in 2011. He is also recipient of CV Ananathasayanam Memorial Award from His excellency Shri Rosiah, the Governor of Tamil Nadu. He has also been a recipient of young Super Achiever of Chennai award and award for the best Associate Consultant of Sankara Nethralaya in 2002.
