Murder suspects of Compassion International boss Wanyengera charged, remanded

Seven accused persons on charges of killing the Finance Director of Compassion International Uganda, Godfrey Wayengera have been arraigned in court, charged and remanded to Luzira Prison. The suspects include; Ashraf Tumusiime also known as Obadiah (40), Fahad Kasolo (30), Mike Ssenteza also known as Mwagamwaga (40), Sgt. Muhammad Mwesigye popularly called Jet Lee (50) who is a UPDF deserter, Cpl. Mugabe Borban, attached to Military Police at Kololo, Derrick Keeya, Dauda Kyangwe, and others still at large. They have been charged before the Grade One Magistrate, Elizabeth Peace Lamunu who has read to them four counts of murder, abduction and aggravated robbery. Court heard that in the night of June 9, 2025 at Nsuube ‘A’ Cell in Mukono Central Division, using a fake pistol gun and sticks, the suspected abducted Wayengera and Christine Najjabi, and they later beat Wayengera till he died.
