Glenfiddich Special Reserve, or Glenfiddich Pure Malt as it was often branded, is the circa 1990's precursor to the present day's most dominant Single Malt in the world: Glenfiddich 12 Years Old. Tasting this is a remarkable insight into just how different Scotch Single Malt whisky was just a few decades ago. To note: In the video I wondered whether Glenfiddich distillery might still have been malting their own barley in the late 70's when some of this whisky would have been distilled. But in-fact, the distillery ceased malting its own grain way back in 1958, so you'd need a much older bottling than this to taste a true distillery-malted Glenfiddich.
