After a long wait of 36 years, having the chance to build a layout again Daventry Parkway has developed very quickly. Finally having the space and time ,the experiment could begin and to see if I could have UK model items reliably sent to a small island in Thailand. With the supply of track and trains a success, the build began however wherever possible local, easy to-hand products have been used such as beach sand for the ballast, real earth for scatter, sawdust, string and pillows. What I had not considered was the delicate overhead wiring and the detail does not sustain daily attacks and vandalism from local geckos, mice and all the other wildlife that likes to play on the railway, this layout is based in a very rudimentary shed close to jungle land so the decision has been made. A new improved and much larger WCML layout again set in 1982 will be coming soon as we build us a new home, the layout build will be recorded from the outset as I try to go one better next time around. This Daventry Parkway has only been an experiment!
