Video opens with F23 flying in with rabbit prey (appears to be roadkill). M15 had just finished a feeding for E26 from the dried up leftover prey. F23 leaves the prey on the rails and moves to the veranda. This is a big piece of food to stock the nest. She takes off again several minutes later, returning with another piece of mammal prey (appears to be roadkill) which she leaves on the rails. Slow roasting the meat today 😉. M15 leaves the nest, and we have close-up views of egg #2 and E26. There is no pip visible, nor has the SWFL Eagle Cam Team confirmed one. E26 tries to crawl toward F23 for bites. F23 checks E26 to see if ready to eat, then conducts a feeding with the rabbit prey. E26 swallows a really big bite! After the feeding, F23 cares for E26 and egg #2. M15 perched on the inner limb, watching over. Time stamps below, if interested. No pip is confirmed on egg #2. Today, 12-21-25, is day 36 for egg 2. Hatch most often occurs between days 34-39. Time will tell if egg #2 is going to hatch. At 05:05 of this video, CamOps zooms in on egg #2. This is the narrow end of egg #2. The opposite end of the egg, the blunt end, is the end of the egg where the eaglet inside will make the external pip. This time stamp shows marks on the egg, and some believe they see a pip. This narrow end of the egg is where the discarded egg shell from E26 stuck on egg #2. In my opinion, it appeared the membrane from E26's discarded shell adhered to egg #2. It did not appear to be a snug fit of the discarded shell. It appeared the membrane adhering was keeping the discarded shell attached. The discarded shell ended up breaking apart/falling off. What we may be seeing here on the narrow end of egg #2 is part of that membrane, and perhaps some egg shell bits from the discarded shell. There are also food stains/other marks on egg #2. Others have varying opinions; I am simply sharing mine. My opinion may change with future views of egg #2. SWFL Eagle Cam banner report for 12-21-25: Day 36 for Egg 2. E26 was photogenic, energetic and eager to eat during the day. M15 and F23 fed E26 rabbit and fish that F23 delivered. M delivered grass. Lots of closeups of E26 and Egg 2. M15 roosts in the E upper branch. Sleep safely Eagle family Here is the link to elfruler's "Hatching" page on her website.
