In this video I am going to use Hooker's Green Light from DaVinci to mix a variety of green colours. First I mix hooker's green light with ultramarine blue, then dioxazine violet, then ultramarine blue and burnt sienna, then ultramarine blue and rose madder genuine, then burnt sienna on its own, then aureolin yellow, and then new gamoge yellow, and then I show you what they look like on paper. For the very last colour I said that I was painting with hooker's green mixed with aureolin yellow but I had already done that one, I actually meant to say new gamboge yellow. The most surprising combo is hooker's green with burnt sienna (brown) which gives a lovely olive green. When I mixed in dioxazine purple it made a wonderful grey, and after I added more hooker’s green back in, I said it made a sap green but I take that back as sap green is a lot brighter. There are many more combos you could make too, try your whole palette.
