Critical Analysis of Yumi and The Nightmare Painter

This video is a critical analysis of the book Yumi and The Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson. Yumi is a young girl who has been chosen to summon the spirits. She learns how to create art that summon the spirits and then she uses the spirits to create technology for her town. Painter is a young man who keeps his town safe by painting pictures of the nightmares and summoning them back to the shroud. One day Yumi has a conversation with a spirit and it calls on her to free it from it's bond. The next day Yumi wakes up but she's not alone. Painter is there and the two of them solve the mystery of what is keeping the spirits prisoner. In this video I will be discussing the plot structure, analyzing character development, and delving into the themes of the novel. We will be looking at quotes and talking about their structure.
