Self-celebration might sound simple, but for many of us, it’s one of the hardest things to practice. I want to name something that has been very real for me - and, at this point, something I know well. For a long time, receiving praise was hard. Letting something land after I showed up bravely was hard. My system would move quickly into self-criticism. I’d focus on what I should have said better. What didn’t work. What didn’t land. And when something I offered didn’t receive the response I hoped for, something deeper would happen. It wasn’t just disappointment. I made it mean that I was the failure. As if one moment not landing defined my worth. As if trying and missing the mark meant there was something wrong with me. That inner voice used to get loud. It would tell me I was too much or not enough. That I should know better by now. I’m much more aware of that pattern now. I know how to catch it. I know how to stay with myself instead of turning against myself. And I still see how easily it shows up — especially for women who care deeply and show up with heart. I see this pattern in so many women I work with. That’s why I’m opening a space on January 16th and 17th to explore self-celebration together. For me, self-celebration isn’t about hype or pretending things are perfect. It’s about being able to stay with myself in real time. Showing up in relationship honestly and unapologetically. Not leaving myself when things feel uncomfortable, awkward, or tender. It’s about learning how to remain present when parts of me aren’t being reflected back or celebrated - by my family, my partner, or the culture around me. Naming and honoring what often goes unseen: my sensitivity, my depth, my creativity, my effort, my willingness to try even when there’s no guarantee it will land. Self-celebration is practicing recognition from the inside out. Letting yourself matter without needing external validation. Choosing to stay, instead of turning away or turning against yourself. If this touches something in you, you’re not alone. And you’re deeply welcome to join us.
