For Julie Erfle, the possibility of the firearm used to kill her husband being sold at auction is a devastating injustice. She has filed a lawsuit against the City of Phoenix and Police Chief Matt Giordano to stop the sale of the weapon used in the 2007 death of Officer Nick Erfle. "Nick had survived several bouts of cancer and some medical complications that nearly took his life," Erfle said. "And so what had happened there was definitely a sense of like, this can't be, like not after everything that we've gone through." Erfle is challenging the city's assertion that a 2013 state law requires them to sell forfeited firearms instead of destroying them. FOX 10's Taylor Wirtz has the details.
