The Lake Lander: LNER 60532 Blue Peter at Arnside (with 47593 and 57311), 26th September 2025

#SaphosTrains #BluePeter #Arnside On the evening of Saturday 26th April 2025, the Lake Lander railtour (an excursion from Rugby that went to Carlisle via the WCML, and returning via the Cumbrian Coast and Carnforth) made its crossing over the mouth of the River Kent at Arnside, Cumbria. It was second time lucky for LNER A2 60532 Blue Peter (joining the outward run at Crewe and later returning light engine from Carnforth), after the chaos of a lineside fire 3 weeks earlier (triggered by a steam-worked Northern Belle trip). In company with InterCity liveried 47593 Galloway Princess and Locomotive Services Limited's 57311, 60532 made a fine sight going over the viaduct, and making a fine sound with her chime whistle (sounding a bit like an Australian or New Zealand loco!).
