My rose "Jumilia" has been growing in the same place for 8 years. It was planted in a vase made from an old car tire. It is best to transplant an adult rose in late fall or early spring. In the beginning, you need to make sure that the conditions for growth and flowering in the new place will not be very different from the previous one. It is better to try to provide the rose with the usual amount of light and protection from the wind at least for the first 2 weeks after transplanting. After selecting a location, a planting hole is prepared, from which all the roots of weeds are removed. The bottom is filled with compost, which should provide the bush with nutrients, and most importantly - nitrogen. Compost can be replaced by decomposed manure. It is advisable to allow the pit to stand so that the soil and fertilizer settle inside, after which you can start digging the rose. It is best to dig up the plant approximately in the projection of its crown, but this is not always possible, so it will be enough to try to dig up the bush with as large a root ball as possible. In a rose garden, arranged according to all the rules, this is quite difficult, because the soil is usually light and loose. So you need to water the rose well so that the soil can hold better around its roots. The clump should be of a size that will allow the plant to be moved to its new location without damage. Next, place the rose with the root ball in the prepared hole so that the planting level is about the same as at the original site. If necessary, the pit should be deepened or, conversely, raised. After that, soil (or a mixture of compost, decomposed manure and horn shavings) is poured up to half of the hole and watered abundantly. Then the soil is added to the required level and watered again. When the water is absorbed into the soil, more soil is poured around the bush and tamped well, so that there are no large air voids around the roots. If the clump of soil was not saved during digging, the root system should be carefully inspected and the diseased and damaged roots removed. The places of cuts can be treated with liquid clay. The bush is then placed in the planting hole and gradually buried so as not to damage the roots.
