The main melody (the part around 45 seconds in) was actually the very first thing I wrote for this song. I was watching a Rick Beato video on YouTube (I think it was the interview with Josh Freeze) while warming up and practicing my guitar, kinda half paying attention to what I was doing. At some point I played this melody and thought something like "woah that sounded nice". After that I sat there and developed it more, no longer paying attention to the interview.
