And why not, these are all wonderful island adventures. But don't dismiss Kerrera, the closest island of them all and a place full of surprises! Caledonian MacBrayne's smallest ferry will take you there from Gallanach in little longer than it takes to boil a kettle. And when you get there you'll feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Kerrera may well be Scotland's most underrated island, I'll be honest and say I'd never even heard of it until a couple of years ago. Now it's one of my favourite places in the whole country.
