Date: 20/07/25 Location: Ruderregatta Oberschleißheim Distance: 42 km Time: 1h 14min 02sec ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sunny weather, dry roads and a tiny bit warm for my taste, but really perfect conditions for a good race. The track is one of the fastest I know, if not the fastest, being completely flat and having a very, very smooth surface. Men and women have their respective starts, with the men starting at 9 am and the women at 11 am. It was also part of the BIC, the Bavarian Inline Cup, hence quite a few young and fast skaters. The race itself was relatively slow, since they wanted to have a sprint at the end, which made it possible for skaters like me to remain with them. On the downside, it was somewhat stressful, and we had a few crashes and some near misses. I was lucky enough to make it without injury, and it was my fastest race with a time below 1h15min, so I'm very happy (especially taking into account that I'm still suffering from low back pain). Also, it was very nice to spend time with the people I skated with 2 years ago and have a chat with them. :-) Oh and we had to skate 8,x laps, not 7,x as stated in the video, my bad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Timeline: 00:40 Start 06:33 Lap 2 14:49 Lap 3 20:00 First crash (and at least one almost-crash) 20:27 Fidus, who had crashed, rejoins us 23:22 Lap 4 31:48 Lap 5 33:00 And just like that, I'm not in the group anymore, I should have paid more attention. It takes me several laps and a lot of help from Sascha and Olaf to rejoin them. 40:20 Lap 6 44:47 Second crash (Roman, he finishes the race) 49:09 Lap 7 57:54 Lap 8 59:05 Finally back in the leading pack 01:06:31 Lap 9 (last lap) 10:49 3rd crash, with 5 people. As far as I know, all make it to the finish line
