In this video Dr O'Donovan demonstrates how to examine a patient for a possible Deep Vein Thrombosis (or DVT) in the community. A DVT is a clot that forms in one of the veins. This can dislodge, then travel into the bloodstream and towards the lungs, where it can cause a pulmonary embolism (PE); this is a blockage in the pulmonary circulation that can be life threatening!
