In this video, two large burning bushes are removed from the landscaping at the front of the house. Burning bush is an attractive landscaping bush, with foliage turning a brilliant red in the fall. For that reason, it became a popular landscape plant years ago, and can be found planted as an ornamental around many older houses. Unfortunately, burning bush is not native to the northeastern United States, and is invasive in the way it is spreading through woodlands and impacting native species. Since we are combating burning bush (among other invasive species) in the woods around the property, I decided it was high time to eliminate the ornamental burning bushes in the landscaping. The battle of controlling the invasive species cannot be won when you maintain a productive seed source in the landscape!
