Sula Vineyards ( "Sula") is a winery and vineyard located in the Nashik region of western India, 180 km northeast of Mumbai. It was founded by Rajeev Samant in 1999.Sula has grown to be India’s largest and most awarded wine brand. Sula introduced grape varietals such as Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc, Riesling and Zinfandel in India and is the leading player in the Indian wine industry. Sula also owns and operates two wine resorts called "The Source at Sula" and "Beyond by Sula" located near its plant in Nashik. It has a tasting room at its winery in Nashik and one at "Domaine Sula" vineyard in Karnataka.[23] Starting from 2008, Sula conducted an annual wine-and-music festival called SulaFest at its vineyard in Nashik. SulaFest was discontinued after 13 editions, in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The entry charges are Rs.600 on weekdays (Mon-Fri) and Rs.1,000 on weekends (Sat-Sun) /festive days per person. Nashik Road Railway station would be the closest one for trains, and the drive to the vineyards is blessed with sights of beautiful ghats, waterfalls, lush green fields and plenty of eateries on the way. To visit Sula Vineyards in Nashik, you can travel by train, flight, or road. The vineyards are located about 15 km from Nashik city, making it easily accessible from Mumbai (180 km) and Pune (205 km). You can choose from various transportation options like private cars, taxis, or buses. Here's a more detailed breakdown: 1. By Train: The nearest railway station is Nashik Road. From the station, you can hire a taxi, auto-rickshaw, or use ride-sharing services to reach Sula Vineyards. 2. By Flight: Nashik has its own airport, or you can fly into Mumbai or Shirdi and then take a cab or bus to Nashik. 3. By Road: From Mumbai: The drive is approximately 180 km and takes around 4 hours, passing through scenic ghats, waterfalls, and lush green fields.
