On December 27th and 28th, the York 17 ran the Steam Into History's 2013 Resolution trains, from New Freedom to Hanover Junction and return. These trips were the grand conclusion for Steam Into History's very first year in operation. The engine powering these trips, the York 17, was built in April 2013 by the Kloke Locomotive Works of Elgin Illinois for Steam Into History; 17 is a 4-4-0 American or 'D' class steam Locomotive. These trips were 10 miles each way, providing for a 20-mile round trip excursion behind the 17. The trains are operated over the old Northern Central Railroad mainline, which became part of the world famous Pennsylvania Railroad, before changing hands to Penn Central, and then being retired and turned into a rail trail. After another (failed) excursion railroad attempt on this route, the line finally saw action again in May of 2013 with the York 17's test run, followed by regular excursions starting on June 1, 2013. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the York 17 rambling down the Northern Central Line, and a cab ride on York 17! Don't forget to comment, like, share, and subscribe for plenty of great railroading action from all over the eastern USA!
