(longer edit) Rodri has been the Correctional Food Service Manager since 1989. He’s one of only a few civilians who work full-time in the jail and has picked up a moniker that he’s come to embrace over the years. “I’m the Jail Daddy,” Rodri said proudly. “I run the jail.” But he’s also certain that the system in place in the jail is much better than the alternative found in many institutions where food and laundry services are often contracted out to third party companies. Rodri believes that many such operations aren’t as concerned about the jail population as they are the company’s bottom line.
