If former leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva hadn't ended up behind bars, polls say there was a very good chance he would have won the presidency once again. But rampant corruption has left a bad taste in the mouths of many Brazilians, to the point where many of those heading to the polls will be voting against the corrupt candidates of the past. On the far right is a candidate who's surging in the polls. Jair Bolsonaro is the man who was stabbed on the campaign trail and turned that attack into a way to boost his position, even making live broadcasts from his hospital bed. On the left is Workers Party candidate Fernando Haddad.
