Fishing Tarpon and Bonefish in Key Biscayne Florida

This week we're traveling all the way down to Key Biscayne in South Florida to fish for Tarpon and Bonefish with my good friends Rick Harris and Captin Carl Ball. I grew up in the Florida panhandle and saltwater fishing is in my blood. When I was a kid we'd fish for redfish and speckled trout under the dock lights in the bay. Offshore fishing for grouper, red snapper, amberjack and other reef fish was also a ton of fun. But even thouth I lived in Florida for 25 years I never made it down to the florida keys, or even much south of Gainsville for that matter. Since moving west I've developed a new perspective on the state. It truly is one of the most diverse and beautyfull places in the country. There's no shortage of hunting opportunities but the real attraction for me is the saltwater fishing. On this trip we started out the morning flipping lures to big tarpon in biscayne bay. As you'll see in the video, once hooked, tarpon put on quite a show. After that we headed to the nearby flatts to stalk bonefish. Although I brought a flyrod along in hopes of cathing a bonfish on a fly, the wind made it nearly impossible to cast so we resorted to a spinning reel to get the lure in front of the bonefish.
