Oil Crisis: Qatar LNG Terminal Hit By Iranian Missiles, India's Gas Supplies At Risk, Markets Crash

Iranian missiles targeted Qatar's Ras Laffan LNG processing terminal on Wednesday night, the world's largest natural gas export hub accounting for a fifth of global LNG supply. Qatar Energy confirmed extensive damage, multiple missile strikes, large-scale fires and significant disruption across facilities, though no casualties were reported. The attack followed coordinated strikes on Iran's South Pars gas field, placing both ends of the world's largest natural gas reserve under attack. Indian markets crashed, with the Sensex plunging over 2,500 points, nearly 3% down, marking the worst day on Dalal Street since the war began. India imports all its LNG, with nearly half coming from Qatar alone. Over 70% of India's gas imports are tied to West Asia, making this a direct hit on supply lines. Oil prices surged over 5% to cross $110, European gas prices climbed over 70% since the conflict began, and Asian LNG futures spiked nearly 90%.
