This video talks about a wild beech tree that was harvested from the wild on our farm in North Carolina. About 9 years ago, it was replanted while dormant and the branches and leaves trained for several years. It's grown into a beautiful specimen tree that you might see growing in a Japanese, Chinese or Asian garden. If it was smaller and in a pot, it could be a bonsai tree. The trunk continues to thicken and the leaf pads have developed nicely. Wiring the branches to a heavy stone helps to lower one of the thicker branches and several different methods of wiring or bracing with bamboo and pruning has giving us the shape we are at now. During Autumn, the leaves will turn a beautiful yellowish and then brown color. At the last minute in spring, the old leaves release and the new lush green leaves will grow. This would be the time to start pruning the new soft wood and leaves to maintain the compact shape. This is a work of patience and appreciation for a living piece of art in your garden. Do some research and see what you can find for yourself. You might find a tree or plant in a nursery or a local store that would work as well. It can be a focal point of the garden or just for conversation and contemplation. +++Purchasing Pauls' Artwork Helps Support Channel: https://fineartamerica.com/art/paul+o... +++Purchasing from our friend “Photography by Theron Clore” supports his work.
